Who Has Breast Implants Hollywood

who has breast implants hollywood
Do you see agree that injecting botox in your face and implanting silicone into your breasts is…?

… conceptually not that different from the act of wearing a burqa?

But us Western women we choose to do all these things with our bodies you say… Muslim women have no choice in their predicament and those who say they choose to wear the burqa are clearly brainswashed and/or suppressing their true feelings out of fear.

But is this not a form of brainwash as well? http://static.thehollywoodgossip.com/images/gallery/a-sick-body_501x407.jpg

I’m not saying that they’re the same thing… just that they both ultimately degrade and cheapen women. Neither am I trying to undermine the plight of Muslim women; their situation is far more urgent and serious than that of blonde bimbos in Hollywood.
Old school: care to elaborate?
Ok, I’m not saying they are the same thing… in fact they both lie at the opposite, extreme ends of the spectrum.
I’m just curious why trends involving plastic surgery, botox, etc are not seen as oppressive and demeaning towards women?

The big difference is one places the burden of suppressing men’s desires on the woman, while the other actively panders to those desires. Both create environments where women are objectified and demeaned.

Both also lead to rape apologetics and victim blaming. A woman seen without a burqa is often considered to be “deserving” of any harassment she experiences because “men can’t help themselves” so it is her duty to cover herself up so she can be taken seriously and left alone.

A woman who has implants and wears “revealing” clothing is also often blamed for any harassment she receives, because obviously she “wanted it” if she looked “that way”. The difference here is that in many western societies women are actively encouraged to pursue cosmetic surgery and wear revealing clothing, so they end up getting mixed messages more than women in areas that socially mandate burqas. (As we can actually see in your question where you simultaneously say “But is this not a form of brainwash as well?” and then go on to call women who have fallen victim to this societal brainwashing “blonde bimbos in Hollywood.”)

Both seek to control women’s behaviors based on their clothing for the “benefit” of men. This is institutionalized discrimination and control that operates at a deep level within a society. Because it is so deeply ingrained, many people feel it is fair to claim it as “natural”… even though the idea of anything in our societies is “natural” anymore is laughable.
