Silicone Breast Implants Pregnancy
Saturday, July 31st, 2010I’m looking into getting Breast Implants and am wondering what is the best choice, silicone or saline?
I’ve had two children and am in need of some breast reconstuctive surgery.I’m wondering if anyone has ever gotten breast implants put in through the belly button, because I also want the surgeon to stictch my belly button back to the stomach muscle. The muscle got seperated through my two pregnancies, and my belly button detached itself from the muscle.Anyway, just wondering if anyone went through something similar and has any advice to give me.Thanks so much!!
There are pros and cons of each, so it depends on what you are looking for, the method of surgery (over or under the muscle) and the incision cite, because the silicone must go in full, so its a larger incision. I opted for silicone because I wanted a softer and more natural look and feel, and I wanted to go over the muscle.
Also, the belly button is NOT connected to the stomach muscles, I am assuming you are talking about the rectus abdominis. The rectus abdominus has 2 heads, that run vertical along side eachother and are used when you flex your spine (sit up or bend forward). They spit apart during pregnancy so they do not get over stretched and weakened. This is called a diastases. However, they do get a bit stretched and weakened during pregnancy. They move back together after pregnancy, but often not all the way. There are exercises you can to strengthen this area and close your diastases, giving your abdomen a flatter appearance.
