I am getting them next week. I know A LOT of men who are against them. I’m only going up to about a C cup. I am also getting the most natural feeling and looking kind that there is. People tell me that I should just love my body the way it is, blah blah blah. Well, I had cancer so one of my breasts are non-existent and the other is only an A cup.
Wouldn’t you rather your wife/girlfriend have nicely sized breasts, rather than one tiny breast? I know it’s a weird question.
Go for it lady! Any breast cancer survivor should have as many implants as she wants! A radical mastectomy is a traumatic thing…heck, if you want three…go for it. Yes, men prefer two breasts to one A cup!
anyone that has had the procedure done and are extremely happy with their results, could you give me the name of the surgeon you used. anywhere in New Jersey, PA or NYC?
The FDA has a web site that may help you find a Doctor.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approves Breast Implants under laws that govern medical devices. Although not binding as law, the FDA also makes recommendations about breast enlargement surgery and age related concerns. These guidelines are intended to ensure that a woman’s breast development is complete. They also ensure that she is old enough to make informed choices about breast implants.
In general these recommendations state that a woman be 18 years of age for saline implants and 22 years of age for Silicone Implants because each type of implant carries different risks.
In 2004 the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) adopted policies similar to the FDA recommendations. While these are the same for saline implants for women aged 18 and older, they recommend silicone implants to be safe for women aged 21 years of age, providing breast development is complete. If breast development continues after
Best Results
The best results, statistically, occur when women receive breast implants between the ages of 20 years to their mid-40s. During this time women’s weights are more stable, and the ability to heal is at its best.
Exceptions
Although there is the occasional adolescent younger than 18 who would benefit from breast enlargement surgery, most plastic surgeons adhere to these recommendations. Such situations involve the need for breast reconstruction or correction of severe malformation or asymmetry as in virgin hypertrophy.
Nor is age an indicator of emotional maturity, either. Emotional maturity is a significant factor that can have a serious impact later on decisions made today. The reasons a woman wants breast enlargement are critical. For example, many women who desire to impress others, to seek approval from others, or to attract male attention to her physical features outgrow these viewpoints and become satisfied with their natural endowments.
Another group of women in the optimal age range that may not be good candidates for breast enlargement are those who plan on having more children, and especially those who intend to breast feed their children. Women who smoke, whose weight fluctuates, or who have any of a number of diseases may not qualify as good breast surgery candidates.
Recovery After 50
Recovery is slower and success rates are lower in older women, especially after age 50. This is a time when age-related diseases begin to develop but may not yet be detected. Diseases such as diabetes may affect healing and recovery times long before they are diagnosed. Skin begins to lose it’s elasticity, muscle mass diminishes, and a number of other factors come into play that simply lower the prognosis for best outcomes. Older women must understand that while a breast enhancement might improve their appearance, it cannot make them look like a 30-year old, again.
