Plastic Surgery After Death?
Random but valid question :
Say someone decides to get plastic surgery. Everything’s fine, no complications and they live a healthy life in spite of being not 100% themselves. What happens to the silicon and all of the foreign material in their bodies when they die? Does it disintegrate or just chill on the skeleton in the coffin? I’m talking about Breast Implants, bot ox…whatever ya got, let me know. This is out of curiosity, no particular reason. Thanks!
Silicone-gel implants will not biodegrade, and even the saline-filled implants have a silicone shell and that will not breakdown either. I saw an autopsy performed once on a woman who had beast implants. What the doctor did was take them out to gather whatever data and then put them back when they were done. I am not sure what they would do in a cremation because bio-hazardous medical waste has to be disposed in a manner that will prevent spreading infectious disease to the general public, and that involves incineration. I am not sure if they can put implants in an incinerator. Whatever is the case, keeping them with the body itself is going to save time, hassle, and money because medical waste has to be disposed one way or another.
