Help Getting Breast Implants Removed

help getting breast implants removed
Okay my question never showed up! Help with MRI!!?

I had an MRI done and need some help! My Doctor called me in and said that I need a biopsy done. I don’t quite understand the MRI because I thought the reason I was gettting it was to see if it was cancerous or not and now I’ve done the MRI and they want to remove the lump. Problem is I have Breast Implants and the lump is on my implant and I have the chance of my implant being affected. The report says no sign of maligancy but need to remove the mass for histolgy. I’m quite confused and I am gonna get advice from another Doctor also. I guess my question is has anyone gotten a MRI and then had to deal with a biopsy and when you got the biopsy did it turn out to be cancer or not. My Doc says that MRI’s are not 100% and that is why the Radiologist called her to recommend removal of the lump becaused I still have the chance of it being cancer! I appreciate any help I can get on this subject!

Your other q did show up, just not sure how many people are on here right now that have any experience with your situation specifically.

I personally would recommend the biopsy. You can replace your implant and from what I understand that has to be done eventually anyways.

And there is a small chance that if it does have to be replaced do to the biopsy damaging it or from later removal or treatment that insurance will pay for it.

In response to the person below me..
A needle biopsy isnt always possible because of where the lump is or the density of the lump. Even if the shape or whatever isnt typically what is seen with cancer, that may have been the best option for your situation.
