Do I go Saline or Silicone?
I am researching getting a Breast augmentation & lift. I know there has been controversy about Silicone Breast Implants and that the FDA recently said they were safe, etc, etc. What I want to hear from is people who have had either done or knows about the difference on a more personal level. I have read that silicone feels more like real breasts, but I was unable to find a comparison of the two as far as which feels more real. Any info would be greatly appreciated, however, I do NOT want anyone answering just to tell me not to do it. I make all the decisions for my body myself, thank you, which is why I am asking which might be more suited for my own personal needs. Thanks!
@odimwitdwon I already stated your narrow-minded opinions were not what I Was looking for. I am sure you know very little on the subject or women’s health in general.
I work in the field of plastic surgery and I am a guy and I have had girlfriends with both silicone and saline and natural breast so maybe I can help.
Silicone both looks and feels much more realistic, then saline. Saline is prone more to rippling on the sides of the breast if the breast tissue is thin or if the implant is placed above the muscle. Saline also feels hard.
Saline on the other hand is a plus in case there is a leak, the body will just absorb the salt water solution and you will have no sick side affects from it. Also saline can be filled once inside the breast so the incision can be much smaller and less noticeable, silicone comes pre-filled from the manufacturer so the incision must be larger to fit the implant inside the breast.
Also depending on your age and if this is your first time you may legally only be allowed to get saline per FDA regulations so that is something you may have to look into.
If you are going to get implants and seems that you want the most realistic look and feel that you can get, then go with silicone.
