Breast Implants… Unders and overs… The differences?
I know the essential difference that one goes ‘under’ the muscle and one goes ‘over’. What are the differences in appearance when they heal? Which takes longer to heal? Do unders look smaller with the same size implant? Aaagh! it’s all so confusing….
Any picture examples the demonstrate the differences would be useful… Or links to Cosmetic surgery sites with before and after pictures…
i had the ones that go over the muscle and i had nothing but trouble with them…they kept encapsulating & going hard – it was so painful to have them manipulated back by the surgeon.
i later had them removed & had ones put under the muscle & they are perfect. they are soft & i have never had trouble with them.

Important breast reduction question! Revisions?
I am an 18 year old that had a breast reduction done about a year ago. I am really not at all happy with the results, not one bit.
The biggest complaint that I have is the measurement that I am down to. My surgeon and I agreed on a specific cup size to go down to, and he brought me 3 sizes lower. The shape is also not as good as it was right after the surgery.
My insurance company covered the entire procedure, and revisions are free. I was wondering if anyone on here knew if Breast Implants count as a revision? Is there any way that I can increase the size and improve the shape of my breasts and have it covered as part of the original surgery?
I have been thinking about this for about half of a year now.
Thanks in advanced! [=
Sadly, your first mistake was getting a breast reduction… But now that it’s done…
The long and short of this, is that it’s up to your insurance company and you need to go talk with them. I’d say that it’s probably not under their normal “revisions” to put in implants, but if you’re having undone emotional stress due to the removal of to much breast tissue, there may be a case. Also, look into how much the doctor removed as in CC’s worth, make sure that he didn’t have to remove as much as he did to get it covered, I know that’s one of the “tricks” that doctors and insurance companies play is tha they have to remove X amount of tissue to count… which normally counts as about 4 cup sizes, so if that’s more than what they removed, I’m a little curious to how big you were to start out with. They could try to do a lift… Though, at this point I think you’re better off finding a different surgeon and get getting implants put in, as I don’t think you’d have enough tissue left to make you happy…
Please spread the word on to your fellow family, friends, online boards about your experience. I’m saddened to see so many women want to look skinny, and several of my friends have also had surgery only to have second thoughts no more than 2-6 months from the operation.

Did you know that more teenaged girls are getting boob jobs than ever…so question is…do you want one?
In my county, there was a 18-year-old girl who died during her breast augmentation procedure because she had an adverse reaction to the anesthesia. Her parents were giving her implants as a graduation gift (didn’t quite work out as they planned).
So, do you know any teens who got implants? Are you thinking about doing that as well?
i heard one teen girl actually got a boob job on the nhs. insane.
