Can Silicone Breast Implants Rupture
Breasts Augmentation?
I’m a mother of 1 5 year old child and I plan on having more kids, maybe 2 or 3 more. My husband really wanted me to get implants and I kinda want it too. I’m a 32A and plan on getting maybe a B or a C. Still undecided. I just have a few questions if anyone can help me out. Maybe somebody who’s had it done before.
1) If I get implants can I breast feed after I get them
2) How much do they range from and to?
3) How do they do a mammogram if you have impalnts? I hope they don’t need to take them out
4) Can I work in 4 days after getting them? I do light office work.
5) silicone or saline? which one is better? I heard that you can get really sick with silicone. If saline starts dripping, you won’t get sick from it. Is this true?
6) What can cause it to rupture? and what are the chances
7) From 32A, should I go to a B cup or a C?
5) Do they get deformed after pregnancy or would they go back to how they were after the surgery?
6) okay to lift weights?
1) Some women can breast feed with implants, others can’t. Unfortunately you won’t know until the time comes.
2) $3,000 – $7,000 is average. Price depends on what kind of implant you have, the doctor’s location, whether you will have the procedure done in a medical center or hospital, and if any other procedures are necessary (breast lift, nipple repositioning, etc). Size is usually not a factor in price.
3) Yes, you can still have a mammogram, but you need to tell the technician that you have implants. It is much more painful because more pressure is used.
4) My doctor told me that if I had my surgery on a Friday, I would be back to a sit down office job on Monday. However, by my fourth day, I was still walking hunched over and not up to leaving the house. lol. Realistically, it takes about a week after surgery to really feel better.
5) Yes, that’s true. Silicone is bad stuff. The only benefit is that it feels more natural–it’s more like a gel. Saline is just water.
6) The most common cause of rupturing is capsular contraction–when the scar tissue begins to
“strangle” to implant. This usually happens within the first few months after surgery, if it’s going to.
7) A C cup or even a small D. Breast Implants look smaller under clothing. During a consultation, your surgeon should have actual implants that you can place in a sports bra to try on different sizes.
They can start to sag. I have a friend with implants who gave birth a year ago. Pregnancy really hasn’t affected them…they look the same as they did before.
9) Yes, after healing. If you have the implants placed under the muscle, the implant will be visible when you lift weights.
Good luck~
